Pakistan has offered to arrange configured training courses for Afghan officials on disaster management.
National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Chairman Omar Mahmood Hayat made the offer at the 6th Regional Technical Group meeting on disaster management.
The meeting was held in Islamabad under the Heart of Asia (HoA) (Istanbul Process). Pakistan and Kazakhstan were co-lead for the event, NDMA officials said.
Hayat claimed NDMA had a vast experience in disaster management and was well-prepared for responding to large-scale disasters in an effective manner.
The Afghan delegation urged the authority to send experts to Afghanistan’s disaster-hit region for assistance. NDMA promised all possible support to the neighbouring country.
