Speaker of Afghanistan’s Wolesi Jirga Mir Rahman Rahmani & Afghan Parliamentarians have arrived in Pakistan to attend the 2nd General Conference of Parliamentary Assembly of Economic Cooperation Organization (PAECO) from May 31 to June 3.
The theme of the conference will be “Promoting Parliamentary Partnership for Regional Integration” and speakers and delegations from Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) member legislatures are expected to attend the 3-day long event.
The conference is especially significant for Afghanistan because with the upcoming power transition and change in regional dynamics, Afghanistan’s reliance on the regional countries will increase. PAECO is an excellent forum for Afghanistan to secure deals and partnerships that might help Afghanistan sustain in the near future.
The conference will include opening and closing ceremonies, meetings of women parliamentarians, breakout sessions and panel discussions to find ways for the region to cooperate in the economic sector and develop.
