Iran exported 5.91 million tons of commodities worth $2.79 billion to Afghanistan last year to register a 21.38% rise in tonnage and 13.57% increase in value year-on-year.
According to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration, the exported commodities mainly included pharmaceuticals, low-density oil and related products, hydrocarbons and apples.
Afghanistan exported 24,518 tons of goods worth $20.39 million to Iran during the period, down 6.81% and 5.75% in tonnage and value respectively YOY.
The imported goods from Afghanistan to Iran mainly included battery waste, vegetable seeds and sesame seeds.
