Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, the Political Deputy of the Prime Minister’s Office, met with Mirdef Alqashouti, the new Chargé d’Affaires of Qatar for Afghanistan.
According to a statement from the Arg, Alqashouti expressed that Qatar will continue its humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people and is eager to expand its cooperation with the Islamic Emirate in various sectors.
Alqashouti added that Qatar is organizing short-term training programs to enhance the capacity of Afghan youth in the banking sector. He also mentioned efforts to establish direct flights between Kabul and Doha.
In this meeting, Mawlawi Abdul Kabir appreciated the expansion of cooperation and the positive relations between Qatar and the Islamic Emirate, stating, “The meeting that is set to be held in Doha with the cooperation of Qatari officials regarding Afghanistan is commendable.”
The Political Deputy of the Prime Minister’s Office also highlighted that Qatar holds an important position in the foreign policy of the Islamic Emirate, and Kabul is keen on bilateral cooperation with Doha in the economic, political, educational, industrial, and investment sectors.
The statement added that the Political Deputy also expressed gratitude for Qatar’s stance on the Palestine issue, noting that the Islamic Emirate supports the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
