Assad is a student of Master of Philosophy in Finance at the University of Lahore in Islamabad, Pakistan.
My name is Assad Naim Nasimi. I was born in Kabul, Afghanistan. In 1989, my family migrated to Islamabad, Pakistan due to unstable situation prevailing in the country.
I am currently studying Master of Philosophy in Finance from The University of Lahore, Lahore School of Accountancy and Finance, Islamabad, Pakistan.
I have earned Master of Science in Finance from the said university with the title of gold-medalist. I have previously studied Bachelor of Commerce from University of Gujrat, the classes for which were conducted at the authorized and affiliated institute ‘Indus College of Commerce’, Islamabad. From there I had also studied higher secondary education in computer science. Due to high and excellent performance in higher secondary education, I was offered a scholarship for studying Bachelor of Commerce at their esteemed institute.
I have completed secondary education from School of Learning (Int.), Islamabad, Pakistan. All the education levels that I have attended and/or attending was/is fully supported by my family. It is worth mentioning that I have been provided with good fee concession by the institutes due to excellent performance and grades throughout my education.
It has been 24 years that I am living in Islamabad, Pakistan. All the faculty members and professors that I came across while my studies, were cooperative and encouraging. At any time, they were not less than a reformer. They never discriminated me on the basis of my nationality and always treated me equally.
Afghanistan, my country and my identity; I miss everything about it. I love my country from the core of my heart. I hope and pray to have a prosperous and successful nation soon. Pakistan, a country where I was brought up; I consider it my second homeland.
Being an Afghan citizen, I have never faced any hindrance or problem in my studies. I didn’t come across any obstacle while getting admission in institutes where I wished to study.
The major problem that is being faced by me and other Afghans is the uncertainty of stay in Pakistan.
There is a friendly interaction between the people of both countries. I do have Pakistani friends too. There is no discrimination or racism between us.
My only message to the people of both countries is that of PEACE. They need to open up their minds and have positive views of and about each other in order to have a prosperous and friendly neighborhood.
I would like to thank Afghan Studies Centre (ASC) – an initiative Centre for Research and Security (CRS) for providing me the opportunity to share my story. I am glad to know about such think tank bodies that are thriving in promoting academic, culture and sports exchanges between the people of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
About Afghan Studies Center: The Afghan Studies Center is an initiative by the Center for Research and Security Studies, Islamabad – an independent and non-profit think tank and advocacy center. One of the primary objectives of the Afghan Studies Center is to serve as a bridge between the youth of Pakistan and Afghanistan to interact with each other and join hands to become leaders of change and messengers of peace and cooperation beyond boundaries.
