Donald Trump’s twitter-obsession is not only doing harm to his own position as the President of the United States, but also making a mockery of USA globally. In his first year as the President there were many unsettling tweets, most notable of which was the nuclear threat directly made to North Korea. As his second year as President gets underway, Americans, as well as the global audience, are not only curious as to what Trump’s second year might hold in store, but are also worried that the President’s fixation with Twitter could escalate diplomatic tensions. Below are some of Trump’s major tweets and reactions from his first year as President:
Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my “wires tapped” in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!

So why aren’t the Committees and investigators, and of course our beleaguered A.G., looking into Crooked Hillarys crimes & Russia relations?

Michael Wolff is a total loser who made up stories in order to sell this really boring and untruthful book. He used Sloppy Steve Bannon, who cried when he got fired and begged for his job. Now Sloppy Steve has been dumped like a dog by almost everyone. Too bad! https://t.co/mEeUhk5ZV9

North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un just stated that the “Nuclear Button is on his desk at all times.” Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!

It’s not only Pakistan that we pay billions of dollars to for nothing, but also many other countries, and others. As an example, we pay the Palestinians HUNDRED OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS a year and get no appreciation or respect. They don’t even want to negotiate a long overdue…

REACTION TO HIS TWEETS:
The silence from Republicans on Trump’s nuclear button tweet is beyond deafening. It’s treason. They aren’t strong enough to stand up to Trump so they definitely aren’t strong enough to be Members of Congress. Shame on all of them, especially Paul Ryan & Mitch McConnell. Shame.

As chair of the EU’s largest-ever election observer missions in Palestine 2005/2006 (and as a kinsman of T E Lawrence of Arabia) I urge Trump to visit the imprisoned territory before tweeting

The portrait of an unfit president in a dysfunctional administration at a time the world is characterized by mounting disarray adds up to a truly dangerous moment in history. The best that can be hoped for is drift. The worst to be feared is a disaster of some magnitude somewhere

Trump’s tweets were taken more seriously by foreign leaders a year ago.
Now, as it’s clear they rarely reflect policy, not so much.
He’s the President that cried “Wolf”!
